Comic-Con International: San Diego, colloquially known as San Diego Comic-Con, or SDCC, is a yearly pop-culture convention that seems to have a life of its own. What started as a small comic book convention with 145 attendees in 1970, has grown to a ma…

Your comment about the New 52 being rushed (which I entirely agree with) reminded me to ask this. Seeing as how clearly it was rushed through last year, do you think it would have been a better idea to let Flashpoint and the New 52 germinate for another few months and give their creators a little more time to complete their stories and give them more time to work out the details of the New 52? Maybe with a May 2012/Free Comic Book Day launch? (Woulda-shoulda-coulda, I know, but I just wondered.)

I think it would have been better to think out things a bit longer but the September date was probably for the best anything else would have made sales a bit more difficult for a launch

I’m a Religious Studies major and interested in exploring comics in my studies (we have courses on religion and pop culture, but we don’t talk about comics much) are there any comics you like that feature religion? Doesn’t have to be DC or any particular religion, so far I really liked Batman: Holy Terror and I also picked up Voodoo Child, which I wasn’t blown away by but I’ll keep reading as an example of the depiction of Voodoo at least.

None that I am reading come to mind as having religion as a focus. In the past, I’ve discussed Helena Bertinelli’s Catholicism in the past as an aspect of her character that I’ve like but I think sadly that has been rebooted.

I read your recent comments on the changes they’ve made to Wonder Woman and was curious. Do you think they will keep the ‘slaves to Hercules’ angle for their bracelets?

Honestly I just don’t know what to expect with that book anymore. I’d everything in her mythos is up for toss’n.

I’m very disapointed in Amy Reeder’s early departure from Batwoman. She’s one of my favorite artists working today. I’ve heard that of the 46 books currently running 30 of the books have changed creative teams. While some of them were the artists decisions themselves, why do you think there has been so much shifting of the creative talent?

That’s a great question. Some of it is chemistry (or lack of), some of it is the creators inability to meet deadlines and sometimes it is just DC trying to keep a good artist happy – that was the case when Travel Foreman moved off of Animal Man. And …

Hi! Firstly I’d just like to say I love your blog – reading it was a bit part of why I actually joined Tumblr in the first place! A random question to start off with I’m afraid -Did you ever read any of the Crossgen series, and if so what did you think of them? I really loved some of those books, especially Meridian, and thought they had some really engaging strong female characters. As a then-teenaged girl I was totally addicted!

Thanks so much. I have read some of Crossgen including Ruse and Sigil. I also enjoyed the Ruse and Mystic reboots last year. I would recommend both to anyone but in particular younger readers. My daughter loved Mystic.
